1993 Fleetwood Bounder Renovation Walkthrough

Our 1993 Fleetwood Bounder “Doris The Slow Loris” has been a labor of love since we purchased her from our friends a little over three years ago. When Sara suggested we finish the project Bob and Carly started, with our own style of course, and take this nearly 30 year old RV across the Western United States in search of a new place to live…I was giddy to say the least…

The “bus” as I often refer to her, is built on a 1992 Chevy P30 chasis, with a 7.4 liter, 454 cubic inch V8, gasoline motor. We’ve done very little mechanically to the actual running gear of the RV with the exception of some oil changes, tightening of some exhaust manifold bolts and some new batteries all the way around.

The majority of our work, has been done inside the bus, both mechanically and aesthetically.

We have:

  • Installed a New iKea Couch to replace the old futon style couch

  • Shelf and TV

  • Dinette renovation with water damage and new seating

  • New kitchen counter, backsplash, drawer pulls and painted the cabinets

  • New microwave and wooden surround

  • Full renovation of the bathroom including walls, new vanity built from scratch new sink, mirror, faucet and more

  • Full renovation of the bedroom including flooring, rebuilt bed with storage, new nightstand and accessories.

  • Painted every interior surface including cabinets, walls, & wooden furniture

  • Installed backup camera and new lighting

  • New roof coating with 3 gallons of flex seal.
