Hiking in Grand Teton National Park

The Grand Tetons National Park was an overwhelming experience of beauty packed into five days and four nights. The allure of this place is unmistakable for a mountain lover. One of the most beautiful ranges you have ever seen is laid out in front of you like a painting.

We explored the parks rivers, meadows and hidden gems like the Murie Ranch Music Series produced by the Teton Science School. On the second to last day of our adventure there, we chose a fairly popular like around a lake and up into a valley with great views of the mountains on both sides of you. I won’t name the hike itself, but it’s not hard to find it.

The total hike was an out and back 10 or so miles and took us the better part of 6 hours to complete. We saw three moose, the rack of one bull and a cow with her calf laying by a river. We saw chipmunks, a pika and a marmot, along with a juvenile black bear, foraging in the woods. I revisited a recipe I learned from Chef Corso on our backpacking trip together (Full Video Here) and made a blueberry banana crumble with an incredible view. (Recipe on Chef Corso’s channel here).

I would absolutely consider doing this hike but be aware you won’t be the only ones on the trail. This is a very popular hike and I suspect it’s going to be crowded no matter what time of day you get started after 7:00am.
